Only two teams in the league have ever beaten Love. As of today, both of them are still in it. Timmy just became the newest member of that club this afternoon. Landon got there first — two months ago.

Timmy's was immediate and it was loud. Tied after one, comfortable by half, and then blown open in the fourth on the way to a 38-20 win that finished as a laugher after starting as a dogfight. It's the kind of result that plants a flag: first meeting, first win, no waiting around for it.

Landon's took longer to build and longer to remember. Two months ago, in a game that opened scoreless and stayed that way through the first quarter, Landon methodically pulled away, opening a 21-0 lead by the end of the third before a couple of late Love scores made the final, 24-17, look closer than the game ever actually was. It was Landon's first win in the series after two losses, and to this day it's the only time anyone had beaten Love before this week.

"Everyone else is still looking for win number one. These two already know what it feels like."

Two very different games, two very different timelines, and the same result: Love, beaten. Everyone else in the league — Logan, Adam, Connor, Micah — is still chasing the feeling Timmy and Landon already know.
